Dog Mom Hostess Gifts For Everyday - A Gift Guide

It happened again—I’m invited! To a dinner party at the house of the most amazing host I know. Naturally, I’m convinced the only way to match her fabulousness is by bringing an incredible hostess gift. While she’d never expect anything, I want to show my appreciation for the effort she puts into organizing a stunning soirée. And, as a passionate gift-giver, I can’t show up empty-handed. The only catch? It’s a spontaneous get-together, and I don’t have anything at home to give. Since I’ve also been tasked with picking up some Cava for cocktails, I’m on a mission to find the perfect gift! for a Dog Mom Hostess!

Extra bonus: this Martha Stewart-level hostess is also a passionate dog mom. That’s great because it gives me a fun theme to work with (and who doesn’t love a good theme?).

I know I’m not the only one who has found themselves in this situation—looking for a last-minute hostess gift that’s thoughtful and amazing. So, here are my top 5 go-to gift ideas for Dog Moms when you’re in a pinch:

The Quick Dog Mom Gifts for everyday:

1. The Fancy Wine with a Twist

A bottle of wine always makes a great hostess gift, but let’s elevate it! My favorite? The Sauvignon Cabernet from Stel + Mar. Not only does it taste amazing (Stel + Mar describe it on their website as : “Pure California vibes in a bottle”, but the design on the bottle is stunning, created by artist Stephanie Cheng. It’s reasonably priced at around $15, and here’s the cool part—you can also order a matching print of the label from her website. If your friend loves the bottle design, keep the idea in your back pocket for her next birthday or special occasion. Who wouldn’t love a gift that ties back to a shared memory? Thoughtful and unique!

2. The Artsy Dog Mom Gift

Cost factor $10

If you want something personal but quick, a digital pet portrait is the way to go! (Might I suggest The Pretty Mutt’s pet art?) With just a few clicks, you can download a fabulous ready-made design and either print it at home or send it to a nearby CVS to develop. Pair it with a cool frame—pro tip: reusing an old frame you have on hand can be a great eco-friendly option. I’ve even taken frames right off my walls in a pinch! It’s a fun, thoughtful, and dog-themed gift that your friend will love.

3. The Treat Queen

Cost factor $15

If your hostess loves spoiling her pup, swing by a local dog bakery. On the way to my friend’s house, I pass the amazing Three Dog Bakery. Whether it’s a bag of gourmet baked bones (our favorite CBD treats) or a few adorable patisserie-style dog treats, this quick stop guarantees I’ll be the favorite guest of the evening. A cute box of three bakery goodies will score you major brownie points with the queen/ king od the night - the dog! And aren’t we all actually only going to the dinner to pet the dog?!

4. The Thoughtful Learner

Cost factor $15

Want to go beyond the usual gifts and really impress your dog-loving hostess? Pair a great bottle of wine (bonus if it’s the Stel + Mar from #1) with a print of an online course you purchased for them. You can find online dog training courses, pet enrichment ideas, or even a pet emergency preparedness course (check out this one from furriendly critter sitters). It’s a practical, thoughtful gift that shows you’ve put real consideration into her passion for dogs. Plus, she might not have thought of it herself, making it even more meaningful.

5. Just Make that Dog happy!

Cost factor $15

In the end, you might not really care about the hostess, but all you’re looking for at the dinner party is holding the pup on your lap and being its best friend. If that is the case, may I suggest the simple way of a dog toy. The squeakier the better, experts say. Dog Experts that is. and by that I mean the Dog are the experts. :-)

Alternative: Download the Free Licky Matt recipe book from: Charlotte’s Blog Sparkle and Sunshine print it out, and add that to a brand new licky matt you can get at any dog boutique or even Target nowadays.

I hope this list inspires you to find the perfect, thoughtful gift for any dog-loving hostess—even when you're pressed for time. Gift-giving should always feel delightful, filled with love, and (of course) a little bit of wagging tails. 🐾
